Reviews I

I’ve been watching alot of movies lately. I’ve been sick, so there’s nothing like curling up on the couch poping in a good movie and blowing your nose the whole way through. Most of the movies I’ve been watching have been 80’s movies. Well..maybe early 90’s. Ok, whatever kinda movies they are they’re just..older. I like them a lot. I’m really considering watching them again they were that good. Like the first “Where the Heart Is”. Which has Dabney Colman and Uma Thurman. It’s about a father who is very rich and decides to kick out his kids, and try and get them to start living on there own, only the tables turn on him! It’s pretty funny, and a good movie if you like 90’s movies. Also a funny movie is “Night Shift” with Micheal Keaton & Henry Winkler. Very very funny. It’s about two guys that are on the night shift at the morgue and they start a “swinging” business. Both are very good. I regert to inform everyone that I haven’t seen any new movies lately. I shall see at least one soon! (I hope.)

Very Important

It’s Hanna Em. AB wants me to “reply” to her entry so I’m just going to do it in my own entry.

So, I have no idea what I’m supposed to say. I guess I should address the issue of Annie getting me addicted to Panic! At The Disco, and just in time because their new album comes out next month! Exciting.

Well, I really don’t have much to say. I’ll leave you with the song I’ve been obsessed with: Fett’s Vet by Mc Chris

and the video everyone should see:

A Fresh New Face.

*AB here. I know we’ve been gone awhile. A lot of things have been going on, so we took a bit of a break, and if your willing to take us back, then have at it!  Along with many other things, I’ve been watching the tabloids/news. Did anyone notice that it seems that our GOOD celebrities seem to be dying off one by one? First Anna Nicole. Ok, now 2q xI know she wasn’t the BEST celebrity EVER. But she made me laugh, and in my eyes that’s pretty darn funny. I get that there all under a lot of pressure but, you know, it’s just pretty sad. I mean, I am a big fan of Heath Ledger, it’s just hard to believe that he’s gone. Who’s next Brittany?! I really don’t think that being a Celeb is a boring life, or a lonely one for that matter. Your always surrounded by people, you have alot of money, so most of the time you have no financial problems, a whole hell of alot of people love you, some for the wrong reasons, but alot for the right ones. Maybe I’m missing something? Alot of people really would love to be a Celeb. I mean, I know I would. I would love to have people admire me, and look up to me for what whatever I was good at. I’d also love having the money too. Not because I’m a Gimme-girl or anything, but think of the people you could help with all of that money!! What also just crossed my mind was why are Celebs always so depressed? Ok , not ALL of them are. But some are. I just don’t get it. Just regular average Joe’s are walking around with shitty jobs, crappy bosses, a messy-roach infested apartment, and alot of them try and look on the bright side of things. And, really I mean what’s with all of the DRUGS!? I know that there mom’s told them not to do crack. WHY DON’T THEY LISTEN!? There older, they should know! It’s common since! Maybe it’s peer pressure? I just wish I could understand all of this. Maybe I should become a therapist…

*I’d also like to say that…I LIKE REGINA SPEKTOR. Hanna Em and I talked about her in I think, our first post, and Hanna Em made me listen to her and well…I really do like her..alot! Annd, in exchange for my new Regina Spektor obsession, I gave Hanna Em my Panic! At The Disco obsession..well half of it. (I don’t care if they gave up there ! I’m still using it ANYWAY! SO THERE!)

Spork Up Your Life

*Em reporting for duty! Hola, this edition of Sporkful features The Spice Girls. I loved the Spice Girls when I was little, and I still do. Ginger Spice is my favourite, in case you wondered. Anywho, they’ve gotten back together, made a new song, and they’re going on tour. A tour that has sold out already. Their new music video is… interesting, to say the least. It starts off very mature, very classy. The music starts, but don’t ask me to tell you how it goes because it’s nothing special, Baby Spice is singing solo. Then they all join in, including Geri (Ginger Spice!) who is just standing by the door, minding her own business, wearing nearly nothing except her 12 PACK ABS. Somehow it just doesn’t fit, the wind machine adds another level of weirdness to it. They’re inside a huge mansion, why is there wind? Then we see Posh Spice wearing what looks like a bathing suit that got stuck in a blender. She’s doing what she does best, AKA looking posh. As Michael Buckley of the What The Buck? Show pointed out, when it’s her turn for her solo it looks like she’s even forgotten how to lip-sync. I like how you can find all their old videos now on their new YouTube account, we didn’t have cable when I was a kid for the most part, so I never got to watch their music videos. It’s neat to see them now.

But let’s forget about them now, and remember them the way they once were. Hot, young, and everything I wanted to be. Looking back, I wonder why. Apparently I wanted to wear no clothes? Their music was all I ever listened to, I flocked to magazine stands to see if Bop (or whatever it was called) had any posters in it. I have to admit, I still really like their music. I mean, the poetic genius of “Yo I tell you what I want, what I really really what, so tell me what you want what you really really want” gets me every time. Seriously though, it’s fun just to dance around like a fool, I think it’s good for you. Their songs are catchy, cute, and I’m happy that they’ve gotten back together for a bit. Now, I have to go shake it. Because if you can’t dance, truth is you can’t do nothing for me baby *bursts into song*. What is with Geri suddenly switching languages in the middle of “If U Can’t Dance” though? I always thought that was weird.

*AB here. I have to admit, I was a hardcore Spice fan. I was Baby Spice!! My friends and I had our own little Spice Girls group. It was mega fun! Although I have to admit that I…was expecting something more..FUN! and IN YOUR FACE kinda music. Like there old stuff. But of course “they’ve matured” and whatever. I was hoping for all the up beatness and dance music for they’re first single. So, I am a bit disappointed. I just have to point out, at the beginning of the music video Posh’s hair is..you know all posh and normal. But by the end of the video it’s all nasty and greasy because she KEEPS RUNNING HER FINGERS THROUGH IT! 15 times! I counted, and how much time does she get on that video, like..maybe almost 45 seconds chopped up. And that means she did A LOT of hair flipping. Also everyone, but Baby Spice, ends up at least half naked by the end of the video clip. I wonder what audience they’re trying to reach out too? Anyway, even though they’re still not the Spice Girls I once fell in love with, I do like they’re songs, and I think I need to go dance to them like the 10 year-old me once did!

Sporkful Mash Up

*Hanna Em here! I’m baacccckk. Wow, that sounds wicked scary. She’s baaccckk! Anywho, AB and I decided we should make our own little entries about, well, everything! I’m going to talk about what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening. So put your pants on and let’s ride (wtf?).

Listening to: Invisible Sun by The Police. Wow, thank you so much, Ethan. I now have this song going through my head over and over again all the time. But I’m also digging Frank Sinatra right now.

Reading: Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly by Anthony Bourdain. Let me start of by telling you how much I love Anthony Bourdain. If you’ve ever seen an episode of his show No Reservations you’ll probably know why. Either that or you’ll completely hate him. I first saw him on A Cook’s Tour on the Food Network. That was such a good show, but it didn’t last for very long. For a while it was only on at 4 AM and now I’m not even sure if it’s on at all. He wrote a book to go with the series (or the other way around), but as Kitchen Confidential is his first book I wanted to read it first. I haven’t finished it but so far it’s…. awesome. It’s everything I wanted and more. His style really comes out in this book, he’s delightfully truthful and amazingly inspiring even when talking about drug addictions and reused food. It’s a really good read, I can’t put it down.

Watching: Idiocracy. If you haven’t seen this movie, do it. It’s really funny, that’s all I can say about it. I mean, I could… explain it but you’d think I was crazy and/or high.

Also: The Sims 2 completely rocks. SOMEONE had to tease me by buying two Stuff Packs and Bon Voyage while I was visiting. I can’t wait for Bon Voyage to come out for mac (next month). It’s so much fun, they did a great job with this one. There are all kinds of new items, new turn ons (and offs) and taking a vacation is really neat. You just call ‘em up and take off to your destination. When you get back you get some cool rewards that’ll make life easier for your sim after all that relaxation.

That’s about it, I don’t have much else to say right now. We’ll write about something a bit more interesting later I’m sure. By we I mean AB and I, btw.

Oh! You NEED to make this Butternut Squash Soup. It’s like.. love dancing on your tongue, I highly suggest it to anyone who has taste buds.

P.S: I saw this video on PhillyD.Tv and it’s pretty funny. I also caught Amir in it, which means it’s gotta be funny RIGHT? Right. Here is the link to the video because I can’t get it to embed: Brohemian Rhapsody

The Darjeeling Limited

*AB here! I just got back from seeing the The Darjeeling Limited. I’m not really sure what to think of that movie. At first it doesn’t really make much sense. Most of the time, I was saying “What the heck is this movie about!!”. They don’t really explain much, but you know what? I really liked it. I mean besides the really weird parts, it was good, and funny!

The movie started off as some..weird “Short film” which really doesn’t have much relevance to the rest of the movie. Mostly your sitting there thinking (well I was anyway) ”What the hell?”. Then the REAL movie starts off with Bill Murry (credited as The Businessman) running to catch a train, and Adrien Brody (Peter) is running with him, and jumps on the train. You meet the three brother’s Francis (Owen Wilson), Peter(Adrien Brody) and Jack(Jason Schwartzman). They haven’t seen each other in a year, and are trying to get to know each other again. So Francis sets up things for them to do to get to know each other better.  Everything goes bad and they end up trying to find a way home. But in doing that they become closer as brother’s and all is well by the end of the movie.

Throughout the movie they play this song, which I got tired of hearing, but now I’m obsessed with called “Were did you go to my lovely” By Peter Sarstedt. It’s good, you should listen to it. All and all, I really liked this movie!  AB gives it a B+!

Lackin’

*AB here. I’m sorry I’ve been lacking in the posting department. It’s been kinda tough to post! Anyway! At the moment, I am heading off to see The Darjeeling Limited ( With Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, and Jason Schwartzman. The last of whom, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of. I’m sure that Em will hit me over the head with a stick,  because he’s pretty good looking and he’s been in one of her favorite movies.) Which I will be kind enough to review for you! At the moment the critics are giving it mostly A’s and a few B’s. We shall see what AB thinks of it!!

AB OUT!

Gay Wizards

*AB here! Let me just say how weird it is being without Em, and her idea’s but..I guess it’s suppose to challenge me?  ANYWAY!

For those DIE HARD HARRY POTTER FANS! (Which would be me. A-thankyou!) Did you hear about Dunbledore? Being GAY!? Ok, I don’t know about you, I don’t mind, but I swear to GOD that Mrs. Rowling said he and McGonagal were married to people outside of the school. I swear I remember hearing that, and I talked to Em about it, and she thought so too.  I know some people expected it, but I’m one of the ones that it caught me by surprise. BIG TIME!! I freaked out. (Like I said, I’m a die hard fan, I have guides for reading the books, and just..everything and I didn’t see it coming) Now, everytime I read anything about Dumbledore, it’s not the same.  Ok, I guess it is now. But for the first couple of days I took him as a dirty old man..with a weird sense of humor. Now, he’s a weird old man..with a weird sense of humor. Before he just had the weird sense of humor…It’s just so confusing. I mean, why now? Why not before the last book came out? Was it because no one ever asked? Was it planned from the begining? Was it some weird stunt to promote gay people?? Or did she just decide in the moment “I better make this good! What will freak my fans out and make them think on this for days…? Uh… uhh… Oh I have it! Dumbledore’s gay!!” If I was there I would have so asked why she hadn’t said anything before.  I don’t know, but I just..want to ask her so much more now. On TOP of that she said he had a thing for Gellert Grindelwald! Why didn’t she say anything about this in the seventh book when she was talking about Dumbledore’s past? That took up most of the book, and she just forgot that tiny detail?! I just hope that all those diehard Christan’s don’t try and ban her books again. If anything that’s what I’m most worried about. Even though it’s not IN the books, you never know. It’s just something more then can throw their bibles at. I’m already sick and tired of them trying to ban it, I know it’s going to start getting bigger then it ever was. Well. Cheers to you Mrs. Rowling! Even though Dumbledore’s gay, and might I add how shocked I still am,  your still in my opinion the best author ever.

Here is a clip from YouTube.com of Emmerson Spartz( founder of www.Mugglenet.com) on Fox News talking about Dumbledore.

Some backround…

*AB here. I have some news, our beloved Em is in Boston for almost 2 weeks! But no fear AB is here! I was thinking to myself, that maybe you wondered, why should I read this? They’re just two stupid girls writing about crap! Well, that might be true, but were funny! I just thought because Em isn’t here, that I’d give you some backround, so you know a bit more about both of us. Maybe you’ll wanna read us. Or you might run away screaming…eaither way I’m going to risk it!!

Em and I have been friends for about almost 6 years now. Through thick and thin. We’ve been though alot of things together, between me moving and her not having many friends. We’ve stayed friends though more then I can express to you all. So one day I thought, “Let’s show everyone how awesome we are and start a blog so we can reach out to people!” So..that’s what we did.  We wanted to see if people would relate to that, if they’d care about what we said and thought. I really hope that you like what we write about, and I hope you get involved with it, and tell us what YOU want us to talk about. Were not afraid! We’ll talk about anything. Well, I can’t speak for Em, but I’ll talk about anything. So drops us some comments, ideas, stupid jokes, anything! I want to reach out to people!!! We would love to hear from everyone!!

Here we gooo…

*AB here. I may not seem like it. But once I was a die-hard Backstreet Boy Fan. Now, I come to find out that they have reunited. I can not even begin to express how EXCITED I AM!! But the only drawback in my book is that there not ALL THERE. Kevin isn’t reuniting back. It’s just soo sad. But, I have to get past that, and move on to BSB Mania! Is anyone else noticing that a lot of bands from the past are suddenly popping up everywhere? Spice girls? Hanson! And now Backstreet Boys. What’s next? 98 degrees? If N’SYNC comes back we’ll have to go on full boy band alert!! But really. I love boy bands a lot. More yummy guys to add to the Hot guy list, right Em?

*Em here and guilty of loving the Backstreet Boys. Although I was an N’Sync girl, sorry AB. BSB were more mature and serious, N’Sync was younger and fun. But I did come to enjoy and like BSB and I own two of their CDs and I’ve been known to pop them in and dance around like an idiot sometimes. When I was told of their reunion I too noticed they were missing someone, Kevin. Actually, AB pointed out that it was Kevin and I was like “who is Kevin?”. He is the really skinny one, who was kind of creepy. Every boy-band has the one guy you never remember, Kevin is that guy from BSB for me. But AJ can totally be on the “hot” side of The List. Now, go break out your BSB cd (I know you have one) and sing your heart out.

-Hanna Em

To fulfill your boy band needs, we shall leave you with a blast from the past…
